Rolled Sugar Cookies
Recipe from: My mom's kitchen
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cubes butter
2/3 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar (white)
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Directions:
Cream together butter and shortening for 30 seconds; add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients, beating until well combined. Cover and chill at least 3 hours. Working with 1/2 the dough (or less) at a time, on a lightly floured surface, roll to 1/8" thickness. *Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes.
*To get a round cookie, we always used a cup. That way you don't have to buy round cookie cutters. :)
