Feather Nails

There's only one thing I love more than painting my nails, and that's having someone paint my nails for me! Especially when its a super cute design. Look at these adorable feather nails my sister-in-law, Shelby, did for me! :)

You only need two things you to recreate these nails: a steady hand and skinny brush nail polish like the ones below. The skinnier the brush the better because you can get smaller lines. That's why she used this kind of polish.
First thing to do is draw the black line just barely with a little curve to it - draw it as skinny as you can. Then add little bristles off of the long line. Let that dry.

Then use white and add bristles in between the black bristles. Let the white paint dry.

Then choose another color - it can be whatever you want (We chose green). Add bristles in between and on top of the black and white ones. That is pretty much it! She also added French tips with the same brush - just a different color.

**Just make sure to add a clear coat on top when you're all done to keep it from chipping easily.

You might want to find a buddy to do this with because without Shelby I couldn't have done this on my right hand - I'm way too shaky with my left hand. She also painted my toes with another variation of this technique. Isn't she creative? :) What do you think?

  1. Allie: Stopped by from the Daily Blog Boost. Love the idea of painting designs and yours looks divine! I don't have much of a steady hand, so I don't think mine would look anywhere near as great as yours. Thanks for the tip, though. Will have to pamper myself one of these days! --Deb (DialMforMoms)
